After graduating with a master's degree in Engineering, I started working for an international manufacturing company. There I helped develop and produce process-critical components, mainly for use on oil platforms and refineries. After working there for five years, I decided to travel around New Zealand and Southeast Asia before moving into teaching.
During my time as a teacher, I have won a national award for Design & Technology education, been certified as one of 50 teachers from around the world as an Google Certified Teacher, and led several groups of students to victory in national competitions. I am passionate about the place of design, engineering and construction in education, and I am always keen to develop my own practice to keep my lessons engaging, modern and relevant.
My biggest passion outside of teaching is playing and coaching rugby. I have played at just about every level in the UK, and look forward to developing a rugby team at BISC South Loop. I also enjoy going to the gym and keeping fit. I love hiking, fishing and everything outdoors, and spend most of my weekends and holidays finding new walks and waters to explore.
