After earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with management from University of Exeter, I went on to train at University of Chichester to become a Math teacher. I strive to give students the opportunity to find enjoyment in mathematics as well as promoting greater understanding of mathematical concepts.
I taught at Amery Hill school in Hampshire, UK, before accepting the role at British International School of Chicago, and during my time there I had the opportunity to accompany students to fantastic places around the world. We visited the breathtaking Amalfi Coast in Italy, during which time we explored the ruins of Pompeii and climbed Mount Vesuvius. I was also fortunate enough to take a large group of students to Kenya, where we volunteered in some of the most deprived schools of Nakuru and went on a safari in the national park.
I was born in South Wales, and when I was still very young my parents moved to Farnham, Surrey to be near family. I grew up and lived around Farnham with my brother, parents and springer spaniels, only moving away to attend university (and later to live in Chicago). In my free time I enjoy keeping fit and playing sports; I play golf and squash socially, but my real passion is for soccer, captaining my local club in Hampshire before moving to Chicago. Living closely to London gave me the chance to occasionally take in a show at some of the many theatres in the West End.
