I was born in Louth, Lincolnshire, a thriving rural town that boasts rolling hills, the highest spire church in Europe and a relaxed way of life. I attended the local Secondary School where my love for sport gave me the motivation to pursue a career in teaching sport. After successfully completing my A-Levels, I was offered a basketball scholarship at University of Wolverhampton where I played under the watchful eye of Nick O’Learly, one of England’s most prestigious basketball coaches. During this time I also played national league basketball for Wolverhampton Wolves and coached the junior and women’s team.
After University I travelled to South America where I spent 10 months visiting countries like Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and Venezuela. On return, I worked in a Secondary School as a Physical Education Teaching Assistant before completing a postgraduate certificate in education in Physical Education at East London University. After the course, I was offered a Physical Education teaching position at The Highfied School, Letchworth, Hertfordshire and coordinated a successful basketball program winning district and county championships.
I decided to join BISC as I want to develop a comprehensive and creative sports program. Our new campus also influenced my decision to join the school; it is clear to see the school is looking into the future, and I am excited to be part of this journey.
I’m a very positive, caring and energetic individual, and enjoy seeking new challenges in life. My main sporting interest is basketball, a sport I enjoy to play and coach. I’m a dedicated Chicago Bulls fan, so you will probably find me at most home games cheering on my favorite player Jimmy Butler. I am a passionate traveler and have had the opportunity to visit various countries including Australia, India, and South America. In 2014 I completed the historic Route 66. Sport and teaching is in the family! My brother used to play basketball for a professional team in England and now lives in Melbourne. My Dad is a passionate track and field coach and enjoys watching the indoor cycling. My mum is a retired teacher, and my sister and her husband are both Primary School teachers. Other hobbies include track and field, volleyball, photography, art and watching live sport.
