After graduating from Cardiff University with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I moved to Manchester University where I researched methods for investigating how muscle cells are produced in mammals. A thesis of my research led to the award of an MPhil before I then began my PGCE to become a high school biology, and middle school science teacher. I started my teaching career in Salford and Bristol in the UK, including several years focusing on post-16 education. I have also taught in international schools in the United States, and France. I have been involved with the IB Diploma Programme for 6 years, including 4 as an IBDP Coordinator.
Outside of school I like to explore new places through travel and hiking. I’m an avid follower of current affairs, bringing this interest to my roles with various MUN groups. In addition, I can often be found in the concert hall or the opera house indulging my love of live music and theatre.
