Alaine Christian

Head of Social Studies & History Specialist

Prior to joining the team at BISC-SL, I worked as a Head of Humanities Faculty at an 'outstanding' school in the UK for 7 years, teaching, leading and managing a range of subjects such as Citizenship, Geography, Government & Politics, History and Sociology.

I graduated from the University of Reading with a Bachelor of Arts degree in War, Peace and International Relations, then graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education in History, and continued my post-graduate studies at the University of Winchester, specialising in Holocaust Pedagogy and Education. I also worked as the Editor-in-Chief of 'Political Investigations', as well as having contributed to BBC History, and The Times Education Supplement, for whom I continue to be a subject advisor for History.

I am a passionate social activist and spend my free time volunteering with survivors of trauma in the greater Chicago area.
