I graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in War, Peace and International Relations, and completed a PGCE at Liverpool Hope University to qualify as a History and Politics teacher. I’m particularly passionate about medieval history and American politics, and last year fulfilled a lifelong wish to visit Washington DC. Over the last 7 years I’ve worked in a middle and high school in Birmingham where for the past 5 years I’ve had the privilege of leading the Social Studies Department.
I am a passionate believer in education outside the classroom and have worked as a civilian instructor for the Combined Cadet force, run several residential visits abroad, as well as running a debate club, Mock Trial competition and a history film club - opportunities I look forward to bringing to BISC-SL. In my spare time I’m an avid Radio 4 listener and enjoy swimming and netball.
