I graduated with a First-class Honours degree in English and also won the Outstanding Independent Study Award for my dissertation before joining my first school in Birmingham teaching English and History. However, I believe that truly educating and enabling young people to grow is not just about what happens in the classroom; we must also give them opportunities to build skills and develop into well-rounded individuals, who are able to function in the wider world.
Outside of school I have developed a love for the outdoors since living in Ontario, as I spent my days canoeing, climbing, camping, and cultivating a skill for cooking classic tripping cuisine. When I am not out on a lake, I enjoy adding to my Kindle library, hiking and ticking adventures off my bucket list. I am looking forward to now moving to Chicago and meeting the students, staff and parents as Hamlet said –
We know what we are, but know not what we may be – Hamlet
