IB Learner Profile at LIS

MYP1MYP2

As part of the IB, students at Leman International School strive to have the Learner Profile traits. There are ten attributes in total: caring, knowledgeable, inquirer, risk-taker, communicator, balanced, reflective, thinker, principled and open-minded. Each month, the school will focus on a different Learner Profile trait. The month of October’s focus is knowledgeable. If teachers see that trait in one of their students, they will nominate that student for a Learner Profile certificate to be awarded during the secondary assembly. Please talk with your child about what the learner profile traits mean and why it is important to strive towards those attributes.

Additionally, the school will start to develop its service program to help others in the school and community. G8 students are already creating their own service activities as part of the Community Project for MYP. In Advisory classes, students will be creating their own service activities to help others, starting in November. If you have any connections to local community, such as to local Chinese schools, local hospitals, animal shelters, or local businesses, please give me an e-mail at Jarrett.brown@lis-chengdu.com . Looking forward to a successful service program at the school.
