SKA Are Measurement Experts!
SKA have been doing a lot of learning about measurement.
When children are learning to measure, we first teach them using non standard units of measure. This means using and experimenting with everyday objects to help children understand measurement concepts. Measuring with non-standard units means measuring things with blocks, pencils, hands, paper clips etc.
This week SKA worked out how to measure various things in the classroom using paper clips. They used words like ‘how tall’ and “the table is 80 paper clips long”.
