Happy Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year Show at The British School of Nanjing is a traditional part of every year to convey the significance of the Spring festival to our Chinese people and present our extensive culture through many astonishing performances.

Chinese New Year is also known as the Spring Festival. It is the most important celebration in the Chinese calendar.

What a spectacular start to the New Year Festivities with our BSN Chinese New Year Show.  The audience was entralled with Chinese historic poems, a performance by our own BSN rock band, The Kitty Song by our Year 6 students.  We had a classical performance of the Peacock Dance which  is the most famous dance in Dai Minority area - Yunnan province, China.

Our students competed in a Chinese New Year Art Competition and the winners were announced with beautiful artworks to celebrate the 'Year of the Pig'.

Our active and very proud parent group performed a song and dance that transformed the stage into a spring festival highlighting Chinese culture and sophistication.

The highlight as always, was the Chinese New Years Lion Dance.  The audience squeled in delight as the dragons decided to take a walk through the auditorium and greeted excited audience members.

BSN wishes all a very Happy Chinese New Year!
