United Nations Day in Primary School

United Nations Day is always an exhilarating event in Primary School - this year was no exception!

The children and teachers came to school wearing a variety of customary clothing from all over the world. As well as wearing traditional clothing, the children also got the opportunity to take part in some very exciting and unusual lessons. In one class, the children could be seen constructing the Eiffel Tower from newspaper and learning all about traditional Korean games. In another classrooms, the children were able to create some unusual pieces of art from pasta, inspired by Italian artists. On the football pitch the children were competing in Olympic style sports events and there was even some Line Dancing taking place. Other workshops included paper crafts, creating a diorama, building cuckoo clocks, constructing the Chinese Tower from straws and many more!

Amongst all this excitement, the children also experienced this year's UN Day Fair - planned and created by our wonderful parents. Here, the children took part in a range of games and activities, and it was clear to see that the children utterly enjoyed this experience. A huge thank you to all the parents who helped organise this event. It was a huge triumph!
