Year 2 had a fantastic end to their Land Ahoy topic last week when they came to school dressed up in some pretty impressive pirate outfits! The children loved sharing their fun facts about pirates and continents that they had learnt with the Year 1 classes and performing a pirate song and actions for them too. They also shared the incredible things they had made in a show and tell session with the Year 1s, who were amazed by the beautiful treasure chests and pirate ships that the children had so cleverly created. It was obvious they were extremely proud of their creations and rightly so! The most fun was definitely had when we went out onto the courts in the afternoon to test out our boats on the water. We wanted to see if they would sink or float (some floated and others sank!), and as you can imagine, there was a little bit of water splashing too, those cheeky pirates! We would like to say a huge thank you to Year 2 for your amazing effort with costumes and creating pirate related items, they were all fabulous!
