“If you go down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise. If you go down to the woods today, you better go in disguise. For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain because todays the day the teddy bears have their picnic.”

"The Enchanted Woodland" It definitely was a surprise for our Y1 students as they headed off into the valley with their teddy bears or soft toys to have a picnic to start our new unit on, ‘The enchanted woodland.’

It definitely was a surprise for our Y1 students as they headed off into the valley with their teddy bears or soft toys to have a picnic to start our new unit on, ‘The enchanted woodland.’ The students were very excited after the picnic as they went off to collect natural objects they could find in the valley. To their astonishment they found many unusual objects like, colourful toadstools, crowns, fairy wings, tiny books, tiny pillows and even a fairy house.  We feel there may be some fairies living in our valley or other mythical creatures.  We will be on the lookout  for all the beautiful things that grow naturally in the woodland and why they grow there.  Which animals live in the woodlands? Are they nocturnal or diurnal…so many wonderful things to see and do in the woodland! So watch out if you are about for bears, fairies and mythical creatures!
