Move More, Move Better

Life is movement, movement is life. – Joe De Sena

Whenever people ask what the PE team at BSN truly enjoy doing, the answer revolves around movement. There are no specific kinds of movement that we enjoy, just sports, sports, and more sports, as they provide the biggest return on investment, both mentally and physically. Participating in sports, interacting with others, however, may not be everyone’s cup of tea. First and foremost, you have to get out there and find what makes you happy!

Long story short, we all need to move more AND move better. Your body is amazing, and it was designed for movement.

Today, obesity and a sedentary lifestyle are on the rise. Normality is now the couch, computer, TV, obesity, and donuts… Now who truly wants that?

Again, we need to move more AND move better.

We should be putting in at least 30 minutes of movement each day, minimum! It will aid you both physically and mentally, and ensure you are on track to achieve your daily goals. Exercise has an amazing ability to enhance mood, through releasing endorphins, and allow us to do our best and clearest thinking.

It does not truly matter what you do. This summer, I aim to increase my time learning stand-up paddle boarding, alongside my trusty pooch companion. Why? It looks really fun, and it is a new and exciting challenge to conquer. Pick something you love, get out there and do it.

Focus on practicing. That is, no matter what you are doing, your goal should be to mentally walk away knowing that you are now better at whatever you were just doing.

Enjoy your summer, have a lot of fun, and remember to move more and move better!
