THE PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS ARE A VITAL PART OF CDS

By graduation, most students will have performed in at least one school play, the AASCA Drama Festival, collaborations with Juilliard, the talent show, or an assembly performance.

The performing arts are recognized as a vital part of school life at CDS. In major productions, more than half of the student body has a part to play — whether it's onstage, ushering, dancing, or directing the spotlight.

A Flair For The Theater

Over the years, CDS has staged musicals as varied as West Side Story and Little Shop of Horrors. We've also explored radio theater and audience participation extravaganzas. The success of these projects is gratifying, especially with the community of engaged students, teachers, families, and service groups who collaborate to bring live theater to CDS.

Leading The Way

Country Day School has hosted AASCA Performing Arts Festivals on several occasions and is a leader in the dramatic arts in the AASCA Schools of Central America. Students can live and create in an atmosphere dedicated to performance and participation. Our students profit immensely from these activities, collaborating rather than competing. Among fellow actors from different schools and countries, CDS discover appreciative audiences and acclaim.
