The conference is a chance for students to listen, interact and get involved with some amazing people, whose presentations ranged from very moving accounts of aid missions in Somalia to workshops on the effects of memes on the modern media. A special mention needs to go out to our very own Mr Orme who not only helped look after the students all weekend, but also gave presentation of his own about the best way to utilize the connectivity of Microsoft products in the classroom. The students who attended gained a tremendous amount from it and they are hoping to act on some of the interesting facts and ideas that they learned about, both in the Model United Nations after school clubs and in their everyday interactions with other students.
The photos should give you a taste of the scale of the convention and let you know how much everyone involved enjoyed the whole event. Our next events will be Model United Nations Conferences that still have places available for students who want to take on a unique challenge that can help you grow in confidence and acquire incredibly useful life skills as well taking part in activities that most universities view as hugely beneficial on application forms.
