A wonderful week of learning was topped off by a wonderful bilingual assembly from Y3B and Y4B. A large audience were treated to a showcase of cooperation, this week’s IPC Personal Goal. Children started to work on the assembly about 2 weeks ago and all the examples presented were child generated. The first part of the assembly showed us famous examples of cooperation in history, for example the Armistice at the end of World War 1 and its 100th year commemoration. The children then took on the role of teachers, giving an unerring display of how we as educators cooperate to improve the learning experiences of all. Children sang in both French and English with each explanation of knowledge, skills and understanding being provided in both languages.
This past weekend saw a number of our students take to Aspire Park for cross-country training, teaming up with students from Compass Gharaffa to hone their skills for the upcoming championships. We also saw success as our Year 4 boys’ team performed well in the QPPSSA football competition last week. This week, we wish our best to the under 9, under 10 and under 11 girls’ football teams who shall be competing. Thank you to all staff who support the children with their sporting ambitions.
Rehearsals for the school production of The Snow Queen are stepping up as we look once again to highlight the impressive drama, singing and dancing skills of the students of Compass Rayyan. Having had a sneak preview of the singing on offer, I am very much looking forward to the show! Further information and tickets are coming soon; stay tuned!
