The English Department offered a number of exciting activities to coincide with STEAM Week. The world’s future is a fascinating issue, which offers lots of scope for debate. Students looked at driverless cars, carbon footprints and the question. Can robots ever replace human beings? Debates were held in several Key Stage 3 classes. Year 10 students researched for the most likely dangers that may have an impact on our future and designed posters, wrote warning pamphlets and created stories and poems. Year 13 wrote documentary style television programmes, where they took on the role of experts in their field, showing the expertise gleaned from their research and ensuring that if we follow their advice, the earth will be a safe and protected place for future generations. STEAM Week gave us an opportunity to make a difference!
