Thank you to the many parents who attended the Themaid Campus information session. This is an exciting new school project which will enhance the facilities available to all Compass International School Doha students and interest is high. If you would like to transfer your child to Themaid, please contact our Admissions Team at firstname.lastname@example.org
We have limited places available in some year groups at Rayyan campus so if you have not registered your child or children yet, please do so as soon as possible. We will not be able to guarantee a place next year if your child is not registered.
Vowels Save the Day! Early Years 2A led a wonderful assembly last Thursday showcasing their learning in phonics. They performed their own version of an ‘Alphablocks’ episode using vowels to blend and make words. They were truly ambitious and confident children. It was wonderful to see how clearly they expressed themselves and their confidence in presenting to an audience.
Last week we celebrated the achievement of students who have been ambitious in their learning in school and epitomise the ‘Be Ambitious’ philosophy. As ambitious learners, we encourage our students to set themselves high targets and to use their learning effectively. Being ambitious in school helps to develop their confidence as well as academic ability. For more information on our ‘Be Ambitious’ philosophy, please visit our page here. Well done to our ambitious learners for being so creative and striving to be the best they can be.
We have two parent presentations this week. New to Early Years, for all parents who have children starting in either Early Years 1 or 2. Ms McKelvie, our Early Years Leader, will discuss our approach to learning and the expectations for this very important foundation stage. This will take place on Tuesday 21st May at 8.00am.
The second presentation is for parents of Early Year 2 children who will start Year 1 in August. This ‘transition’ from a play based approach to a more formal setting is a very important phase in your child’s life. Mr Stephenson, Milepost 1 Leader, will talk about the approach in term 1 and how a more formal curriculum is gradually introduced. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 22nd May at 8.00am.
If you cannot attend either presentation, please inform the School Secretary and she will arrange for the information to be sent to you.
Our Year 1 and 2 students are training hard for the next inter school swimming gala which will take place in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support with this and we look forward to watching our swimmers compete and do their best.
Congratulations to Year 1B for having the best attendance in school last week. We are working towards 100% attendance in all classes.
