Executive Principal end-of-year message

As we wind down the year, I would like to take this opportunity to highlight some of the many successes over the course of the last ten or so months. We welcomed the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to three of our campuses for QNSA inspections. As communicated with you earlier in the year we received high praise in several areas of school operations including our learning environments, learners’ development, and resource management to name a few. Once again, I would like to thank our incredible academic and administrative teams for their tireless efforts in ensuring those visits were a success.

As the exam season comes to a close, I’m happy to report that we’re on track to having another record-breaking year in the classroom. This is also a landmark year as it will be the first time A-Level exams are taking place on our Themaid campus. I would like to wish those moving to further education the very best of luck as they pursue their next steps.

It was a year once again slightly hampered by restrictions and preventative measures. It has been very encouraging to see students and classmates returning to various activities and tours outside of the school grounds over the last number of weeks. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come as we see a return to normal school life come August. I must also thank you as parents for supporting your children and entrusting the academic team continuously in what has been a difficult time for all.

To our staff who have continued to provide an innovative learning environment for our young learners, thank you! I wish you a relaxing summer break. A special thanks must also go to those members of staff who are moving to pastures new. Thank you for your contributions to our school community. To the families that will be leaving Compass, I wish your child/ren continued success in following their aspirations and passions.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the Compass Community. Over the last three years of my tenure, we have faced unpredictable and unimaginable challenges. The resilience that our parents, students, and staff have shown throughout the course of this has been commendable. My only regret is that I was not able to spend more time face to face with colleagues, children, and families during my time here.

I would like to wish the new Executive Principal Peter Derby Crook MBE the very best of luck for the future, I shall of course be keeping a close interest in the school from afar as it continues to grow from strength to strength.

Have a safe and restful holiday. We look forward to welcoming you all back in August.
