After qualifying as a teacher I worked for two years as a class teacher and ICT coordinator in the UK before emigrating to Finland in 2008. Aside from a year spent teaching in the UAE, I worked for nine years in Finland, first as a class teacher and latterly as the lead teacher for digital learning. I strongly advocate the effective use of technology in education. Part of my role was to assist my fellow teachers in integrating technology into teaching and learning as well as leading our digital strategy. Outside of this role, I provided training for teachers from other schools across southern Finland.
In 2015, I was recognised as one of the first Apple Distinguished Educators (ADE) from Finland and I have since been able to gain outstanding professional development at ADE institutes and academies in Amsterdam, London and Berlin. Upon joining Compass International School I became Qatar’s first ADE.
In 2018, it was time for a new challenge and for my family and I to broaden our horizons. I am joined in Doha by my wife, who is also a teacher, and our three boys. I am very much looking forward to working at Compass International School Doha, and getting to know the teachers, pupils and their parents.
