My country of origin is South Africa. I am married, my husband also being a teacher, and have two daughters, aged 25 and 21. We arrived in Doha in 2005, and have been living here for the past 11 years, after spending some time in the USA and UAE. In 2005, Qatar was in the process of rapid development as it attempted to popularize its global position. This exciting period in its history is what drew us to the country.
This is my third year teaching at Compass International School. I completed a BA degree through the University of South Africa, as well as a certification in Teaching for a Multicultural Education. Currently, I am enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in Special Education Needs, through the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
I have engaged in a plethora of Professional Development courses at Compass International School, thereby keeping abreast of contemporary and innovative teaching methods, as well as ICT applications.
My favourite saying: “Tell me and I’ll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I’ll understand.”- Chinese proverb.
I enjoy reading, traveling and watching rugby.
