I arrived in dusty Doha four years ago and since I have been at Compass, I haven’t looked back. Originally from the UK, I have lived in 6 countries and worked in 3. I speak 5 languages and when I’m not teaching, I enjoy travelling, exploring new and exciting places, and taking pictures that capture the essence of everyday life. I have a younger sister who is still in the UK.
I have taught in the UK, South Korea, Thailand and now here in Qatar. My passion is using technology in the classroom to innovate and inspire learning.
Three years ago, I introduced several new initiatives in my class, namely a Bring Your Own Device policy so that every student had access to the internet and an array of wonderful educational apps. I also introduced Classdojo to the school which has become our main and most effective method of communication with parents.
Last year, I began my Masters in international education and leadership in collaboration with Kings College London and Nord Anglia. Although the course is challenging, it is extremely rewarding. My main area of interest is international teacher recruitment and retention.
I enjoy travelling, sailing and photography. This year I spent my summer in sunny Sicily brushing up on my Italian and capturing its vibrant culture on camera.
