A. Generally this is a payment offered to support a student's education, awarded on the basis of academic or other achievement to promote learning at a higher level.
Q. What is an NAS Dubai Scholarship?
A. NAS Dubai aims to grow the next leaders of change. Through our scholarships we will support the most talented individuals in the UAE. Our global perspective and 43 schools ensure these students will have access to a range of opportunities with leading minds in leadership and education. The payment is offered to support a student's personalised education, awarded on the basis of academic or other achievements to promote learning at a higher level. Scholars will receive either 20 or 50 percent reduction in their annual school fees.

Two scholarships that offer a 50% reduction in school fees for the IB Diploma Programme including both Year 12 and Year 13
Five scholarships that offer a 20% reduction in school fees for the IB Diploma Programme including both Year 12 and Year 13
Q. Who is eligible?
A. Each scholarship will be available to both existing NAS Dubai students and new students from other schools who meet the specified criteria.
Q. What is offered?
Students will be ambassadors for our Nord Anglia Education schools. They will be provided with unique opportunities to become part of NAS Dubai’s internationally minded, global community who share and believe in our school’s vision
What academic scholars receive:
Enrichment both within and beyond the curriculum;
Extension - This refers to studying material not usually in the standard curriculum offered. Usually this material is at a more challenging level than the typical material at this age level.
Compaction - Curriculum compacting is a technique for differentiating instruction that allows teachers to make adjustments to the curriculum for students who have already mastered the material to be learned, replacing content students know with new content, enrichment options, or other activities.
Mentoring – We will provide a mentor for individual students within the school as well as a leader and entrepreneur external to NAS Dubai
Q. When does the scholarship start?
A. The Scholarship Programme starts from the beginning of Year 12 in September 2017 and continues through to end of Year 13 in May 2019.
Q. What are the selection criteria?
Evidence of academic excellence.
A good ‘all-rounded’ student with a passion for an IB education.
The ability to demonstrate talent and excellence across a range of skills (e.g. academia, sport or the expressive arts).
A very good understanding of and proficiency in the use of the English language.
Q. What does the academic selection day involve:
Potential applicants will sit a CAT test.
Mathematics, English and a chosen Science test.
Presentation and Interview with the Principal or Secondary Headteacher and/or IB coordinator.
Review of report from current school.
Q. When can I apply?
A. The initial application window for this year runs from Sunday 19th April until Sunday 19th May 2017.
Q. How do I apply?
The scholarship application process requires students to:
• Complete the scholarship application form with your personal details (PDF link).
• Write a cover letter of up to 500 words entitled ‘Who am I?’ that summarises your personal background, interests, achievements, aspirations etc. and highlights why you would be a worthy recipient of a scholarship at NAS Dubai.
• Obtain a reference letter from your current school from a Form Tutor or senior school leader.
• Provide your last two school reports with an official school stamp.
• List your IB Diploma subject choices in the scholarship form provided and get it signed by a parent/guardian.
• Return the completed application form and supporting documents to: IBDP@nasdubai.ae
• If successful, you will be short-listed to attend the interview day at NAS Dubai during the week of 21st May 2017.
Q. What are the obligations of the scholar?
A. Each scholar will be expected to become an ambassador for Nord Anglia both now and beyond. They will become a core leader in the community and uphold our values, morals and ethos. They will be expected to regularly contribute to Global Campus and school wide initiatives and support the student body.
