primary teacher helping year 3 students in maths class

Lauren Woodall

Originally from Birmingham, I am a fully qualified primary school teacher and hold a BA Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies. I am enjoying teaching at Nord Anglia International School  Dubai and increasing my experience in teaching whilst enabling children to reach their full potential.

Through my degree and experience in the early years and my current position as a Year 3 teacher, I have a great understanding of both where children have come from and what they are progressing to throughout the early years infants and lower primary. This has allowed me to gain a greater knowledge of how to engage and encourage children to strive in their education.

My teaching approach is both creative and enthusiastic and through this I am able to bring children’s learning alive by using physical resources, visual displays and applying education to real life situations. I believe that it is vital for children to enjoy learning in order for them to progress and gain a passion for increasing both their academic growth and knowledge of the world. I am also extremely passionate about children’s social and emotional development and recently held the role of co-head of British Values at my last school. Through this, I am able to allow children to appreciate the importance of all cultures, ethnicities and religions across the world.

When I am not in school I enjoy spending time with family and friends and have a passion for travelling the world. I love to read and often find myself lost in a great novel. Along with this, I thoroughly enjoy baking, in particular baking and decorating cupcakes and I like to bake these at any given opportunity.
