I joined NAS Dubai 4 years ago and instantly decided that Dubai was where I wanted to live with my family and more importantly, where I wanted my children to grow up and complete their education.
It was a big decision for my family and I to move south from Ras al Khaimah to live and work in Dubai, but so far, the move has definitely proved worth it. I joined NAS Dubai in 2015 and cannot believe how quickly the last four years have passed me by. What a whirlwind of fun, new friends, trips and adventures it has been, and I look forward to seeing what the fifth year holds for me and my family. I am currently working in Year 6 with a great team of experienced and caring colleagues who have inspired, challenged and supported me during my time at NAS Dubai.
Born and raised in Camden North London, I come from a very diverse multi-cultural background and therefore the demographics of Dubai suit me and my family down to a tee. I love teaching in a multicultural and international environment, where there is so much to learn from the different people and cultures that live and work here.
Teaching and learning at NAS Dubai allows our students to learn about the world around them from the different students and teachers that they meet, both inside and outside the classroom. Promoting internationalism, international-mindedness, global perspectives and diversity are key aspects of my teaching philosophy and I love the fact that NAS Dubai welcomes and celebrates this. This is so apparent and can be seen by the way in which the school celebrates so many different holidays such as Christmas, Chinese New Year, Ramadan and every other country’s national holidays in the main atrium.
I have had the privilege of being a classroom teacher for 20 years now and bring a wealth of teaching and management experience to my role in Year 6. Since graduating from Roehampton Institute in London, I have lived in and travelled throughout many different countries and cities including London, Malta, Bristol, New York, Kuala Lumpur, Mexico, Brunei, Ras Al Khaimah and Oman.
I am a keen footballer and can be regularly seen scoring wonder goals at NAS Fat Dads Football on Tuesday nights. I am also a passionate Arsenal FC supporter.
