After graduating with a BSc (Honours) degree in Computing from The University of Greenwich in London, I worked in industry and had a varied career in software developing and consultancy. My positions were exciting and involved working with a range of clients from around the world which has provided me with a wealth of experience and knowledge that I can bring to the classroom. After making the decision to become a teacher, it has been one of the best decisions I made. I trained in London and taught for three years in a school in South-West London before getting my first teaching position in Dubai two years ago.
Living and working abroad has always been a dream of mine so I am very happy to be living here and experiencing life in a multicultural city-state where people of all beliefs, cultures and customs from around the globe can feel at home. Dubai is wonderful and I really admire it for its climate, optimism and cosmopolitanism and find it an extraordinary place especially because of the way it embraces technology, which I love!
During my spare time I enjoy travelling and venturing out to places around the region, as well as working on my own blog, cooking and trying out new hobbies and sports.
I am very much looking forward to teaching Computer Science; a subject of growing importance to industry and society today. In a world surrounded by technology, we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works. I am therefore looking forward to influencing and enriching students with the essential skills to prepare themselves for future jobs which, right now, we are not able to predict what they will be.
I am excited about joining the NAS community and working in partnership to ensure every student can achieve high academic success. I look forward to meeting you all in September!
