My ambition was to always teach abroad and gain experience living in a different country and culture to my own. Having worked in England for 4 years at a Catholic Secondary School, I moved to Dubai where I am currently the Head of Mathematics at a bilingual IB school. The international setting is something I thoroughly enjoy and I am delighted to be moving to Nord Anglia International School to continue my teaching journey.
I am passionate about teaching mathematics and aim to inspire lifelong learners and embed skills that will enhance learning in a contextual and meaningful way. I love teaching and the sense of fulfilment and satisfaction I gain from seeing children progress and develop especially in mathematics. My lessons incorporate vast amounts of application to the world in which we live and believe this is the best way for pupils to understand the concepts in mathematics.
Whilst in England I played rugby from the age of 11. However, since moving to Dubai rugby has taken a back step and I have been regularly involved with running. I have completed numerous 10km and half marathons around the city, allowing me to appreciate the sights of Dubai. In March I completed my first full marathon in Singapore, which was a challenging but highly rewarding experience.
