Principal's Blog - 5 April 2016 A welcome back from Mr. Cooklin!

Welcome back and I hope you and your family enjoyed the break. Thank you to all the parents who have re-enrolled their children for next year – it has been a great response. We take our responsibilities very seriously and never take them for granted so thanks for entrusting your children into our care again.

With that in mind, we have enhanced our security by having a door-entry system. Please remember that outside normal drop off and pick-up times in the morning and afternoon, the front doors will be kept closed. Please don’t get annoyed when you have to ring the bell to get in the building!

During the break, I have been in contact with and welcoming some of our new staff who will be here in August. We have a number of staff leaving to go to the UK and elsewhere at the end of their contracts so we have new staff to replace them as well as to teach the new extra classes in Secondary. They are excited about joining NAIS!

As usual, this is a very busy term with a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Firstly, we have the Battle of the Books competition in both English and Mandarin and then the big event is International Day. We have nearly 30 countries represented and it promises to be just as amazing as last year (and yes, I will be wearing my kilt!).

Years 3 to 6 are looking forward to their residential trips with a great deal of anticipation. I wish I could go on all of them myself and I am sure they will get a lot out of them, as well as many happy memories.

At the end of May, we have our Primary teams taking part in the COBIS Games again, this time in Kazakhstan. Good luck to them and I am sure they will do us proud.  To cap it all, we have the Secondary Shakespeare performance, Year 6 Graduation and School Prize Giving.

However, the unique event takes place on Friday 17th June and it is the launch of The Juilliard - Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme in the school with an evening to remember with music from world–class pianists, our own pupils, staff and parents.

I hope you can enjoy some or all of these events and look out for the PTA who will be advertising their activities soon.

I look forward to seeing you in the School.
