We are very excited to announce Sonia Cheung of class 6A has been chosen as Nord Anglia Junior Artist of the Year (8-11) out of literally hundreds of entries from our fellow schools around the world.  She was selected for her work “Charlie Saves the Chocolate Factory” which is the illustration to a story written by a student named Samantha Bambrino who attends the British School of Boston in the USA. This was a piece of ‘fan fiction’ based upon Roald Dahl’s classic books. Sonia wins a special prize alongside her artwork being printed in the upcoming creative writing anthology which she will receive when it is published later in the year.

In addition, another five of our students have been rewarded for this year’s Global Campus Visual Arts Competition and will have their work published in the upcoming Creative Writing anthology.  Their work will join the creative writing pieces by Beatrice Villaflor in Year 8, Loli Gai in Year 2, Taisiya Bogucharskaya in Year 4 and their fellow global classmates around the world.

The five students are:

·         Class 2E: Siya Tipnis: Fancy Nancy and the Thanksgiving Dinner

·         Class 2A: Parth Tipnis: My Big Sister

·         Class 2C: Isabelle Kwon: Selling Cats

·         Class 8B: Emmylin Adler: Cinderella Finch and the Grand Ball

·         Class 8A: James Honda: The War of Kings

Thank you to everyone who has submitted entries for both our Creative Writing and Visual Arts competition. This has been our most successful year by far and we look forward to sharing the finished anthology with you all later in the year. We will also be announcing the results of this year’s Global Challenge and sharing a video compilation of the best entries to the video selection before the end of term.
