Mr Lofman has a First-Class Honors degree in Primary Education from Leeds Beckett University. His passion and love for teaching started in his teens when he began coaching a youth basketball team. Watching the children overcome their various obstacles and come together as team ignited a spark in Mr Loftman and led him to becoming a sports coach in an inner-city primary school. The transformative approaches that the teachers demonstrated excelled his passion and he soon became a higher-level teaching assistant and learning mentor helping children to achieve their maximum potential. Finally, when he knew he was ready he began his teacher training and has been working as a primary school teacher in inner city Leeds schools for the past two years.
Mr Loftman specializes in fostering a supportive learning environment in which every child is valued and a strong community ethos steers them towards excellence. Setting and maintaining high expectations is at the foundation of his teaching pedagogy.
Outside of school Mr Loftman enjoys keeping fit through early morning runs, playing pick-up basketball and training in Brazilian Jiu jitsu. He also loves to cook and is looking forward to the culinary treats and new recipes to be found in Hong Kong.
