Ms. E. Parker

E. Parker

Curriculum Subject Leader - Primary & 3A Class Teacher

Miss Parker qualified as a teacher in 2008 after completing a 4 year teacher training course with a specialism in English at St Martins College, Lancaster. Since qualifying, she has worked across Key Stage Two. She has led English across the whole school and has been Assistant Head Teacher for the last 2 years.

I have worked at the same school since qualifying as a teacher 8 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities to develop my career which have arisen during my time there. I have been the school’s English co-ordinator for several years which I love due to the fact I am passionate about developing children’s reading and writing skills. I have high expectations of myself and I am always keen to learn from others in order to develop my own practice.

In my classroom, children are encouraged to take risks in their learning, to believe in themselves and to always try their very best. I believe that when children are happy in their learning, they achieve great things. I aim to provide learning opportunities which are engaging, challenging and promote enquiry. There is nothing better than hearing children sharing opinions, questioning and debating their learning. I feel very privileged to play a part in children’s development during their time at primary school.
