Mr. S. Morris

Head of EAL

Mr Morris started his teaching career with the British Council and studied an MA in English Language Teaching. He returned to the UK where he completed a PGCE in Secondary English and a PGCE in SEN and Inclusion. He has been teaching for thirteen years in Spain, Vietnam, Switzerland, and Ukraine and has been Head of EAL in his last two schools. He led his previous school to achieve a Gold Award from the EAL Academy, being only the second international school in the world to achieve prestigious award.

Mr Morris believes that language is the most powerful tool and knows that all students need support in developing their mastery of it. He champions the promotion of explicit language teaching in all lessons and works closely with all teachers and senior leadership to ensure that effective English support is the priority of all. His aim is to ensure all students develop the strong language skills they need to succeed in the global community.

Outside of school, Mr Morris enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and a range of sports. He is also an avid reader and always welcomes book suggestions.
