Mr. B. Piñero Martinez

Modern Foreign Language Teacher

Mr. Piñero has worked as a Language Acquisition Teacher and Coordinator, Teacher Librarian and IB Extended Essay Coordinator at different secondary schools in Europe, China and Australia. He earned a Master’s Degree in Chinese Language and Civilisation at the University of Paris 7, France, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Education Sciences at the University of Barcelona, Spain, and a Diploma of Education at the University of New South Wales, Australia. In 2016 he became an IB Examiner for Spanish B in the IB Diploma.

Mr. Piñero's teaching philosophy is inspired by High Performance Learning theory, which is a pedagogy-led approach that suggests that most students are capable of achieving the high levels of academic performance once seen as the domain of the very few and his role as a teacher is help students make this a reality.

Mr. Piñero has played basketball at a semi-professional level and he is now willing to share his expertise to coach the NAISHK basketball team. He enjoys reading literature and loves Asian arts in all its forms. He is very proud about his collection of Asian art relics and wishes to enlarge it in Hong Kong.
