Mrs Newman began her move into International teaching when she moved to Abu Dhabi to become the founding Head of PE (Early Year – Secondary) at a British International School in the Middle East. Mrs Newman moved to Hong Kong in 2019 with her family, to join Nord Anglia International School. She teaches as a PE Specialist across two campuses, Lam Tin & Sai Kung, teaching children from Nursery all the way up to Secondary and leads on the Julliard Dance Programme within the PE department.
Mrs Newman is enthusiastic about the possibility of making a difference to children’s life chances. The sense of moving a child on and developing them in many ways, not just academically is beyond compare. She think it is important that school is a place where children feel safe and valued and have a sense of belonging within a community. Mrs Newman would like all of the children at NAISHK to become fully rounded 21st Century learners, that have academic excellence and success at their core, while nurturing the importance of a well-rounded holistic education provided by excellent opportunities in both sports and the arts.
Mrs Newman & her husband have two sons, Riley who attends our NAIS Sai Kung campus & Caleb who attends our NAIS Lam Tin campus; they are a military family so spend a lot of time away from each other due to her husband’s deployments, so being a mother is something that occupies most of her time outside of school. She enjoys cooking, playing a range of sports and hiking with her family exploring the lively city we all call home.
