Mrs. Reid began her teaching career in 2005 and she was teaching secondary mathematics at an academy in South-east England. During her time at this school she has mentored trainee teachers and she was Head of Statistics. She has taught Key Stage Three and Four, and has been a GCSE Mathematics examiner for the Edexcel examination board since 2007.
Since starting my career in teaching I have taught pupils from a wide range of abilities across Key Stage Three and Four. I spent most of my time teaching Mathematics in an Academy Secondary in South East England which specialised in Mathematics and Computing. During my time at this school I taught GCSE Mathematics and led the Statistics Department which achieved outstanding GCSE results with a pass rate significantly above the National average. I was also heavily involved in intervention programmes for GCSE Mathematics pupils, writing materials to be used to progress their learning. I have also spent time teaching Mathematics in a selective grammar school to highly able pupils at both GCSE and A Level. In addition to teaching Mathematics, I have been a GCSE Mathematics examiner for the Edexcel examination board since 2007.
I came to teaching having spent ten years in finance and immediately loved the challenge and variety that working with children offers. I am passionate about making mathematics enjoyable whilst inspiring pupils to develop a love of numbers.
