    Mr. P. Kilgallon

    Head of Caernarfon & French / Spanish Teacher

    Mr. P. Kilgallon

    Philip Kilgallon has been teaching for 11 years in the UK, Thailand and Hong Kong. He has been with Nord Anglia Education for 6 years. He has been a Head of Year, Acting Head of Department and is currently a Head of House. He has taught students from all over the world from Year 3 to Year 13 and has taught A Levels, GCSEs, IB and IGCSEs in Spanish. He received his degree in Spanish and Music from the University of Liverpool and his Modern Foreign Languages PGCE from John Moore’s University. He has a Masters degree in Leadership from Chester University.

    He would like to think his students would say he was energetic, supportive, a good teacher, and above all a positive influence on them.

    He is a huge fan of all sports, especially football as he is from Liverpool, so he obviously supports Everton. He loves water-based and sky-based activities; such as bungee jumping, sky-diving, snorkeling and diving. He also loves music festivals and has been to many in; England, Spain, Holland, Hungary, Serbia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

    Mr. D. Reid

    Mr. Reid graduated from Canterbury Christchurch University with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, receiving recognition for Excellence in Sports Psychology. He was the Head of P.E. in a Sports College on the outskirts of London before joining NAIS. Mr. Reid has taught both GSCE P.E. and BTEC Sports with outstanding results.

    Mr. Scrivener graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching. He was Head of Primary P.E. at an International School in Shanghai before joining NAIS.

    Mrs Pate's professional qualifications include a  BDes (Hons) in Printed Textile Design and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Art & Design from Strathclyde University. Since 2002 she has taught in Scottish Secondary schools undertaking various curriculum responsibilities including Enterprise as well as Art & Design. She was the Principal Teacher of Art & Design at Bearsden Academy and a marker for the Scottish Qualifications Awarding body for Photography.

    Ms. A. Francis

    Ms Francis is an experienced International Drama and Theatre teacher. She taught for five years in the UK and then began her International journey, taking up the Head of Drama role in another NAE school; The British International School in HCMC, Vietnam. She spent 10 years here developing both her teaching craft and her passion for the academic study of Theatre and Drama and has bought this same passion and dedication to NAIS HK where she is currently teaching and developing the current Drama programme as well as introducing the Juilliard Drama curriculum throughout the school.

    She is a passionate advocate of every child having access to a varied and fulfilling Drama curriculum and strives to ensure that all children benefit from the excellent Drama teaching available at NAIS HK. Outside of school she loves watching and directing Theatre and hopes to be able to continue this in Hong Kong.

    Head of Mathematics

    Mr. M. Dolan

    Mark Dolan graduated from the University of Durham in 2005 and has been teaching Mathematics for over 10 years. He has worked in London, Mexico City, Seoul and most recently our sister Nord Anglia school in Shanghai, delivering Higher Level Mathematics as part of the IB curriculum.

     

    As a teacher Mr. Dolan believes in giving students the opportunity to investigate and discover the world of mathematics and endeavours to ensure students construct deep understanding of the topics as well as being able to apply that knowledge to solving problems.

     

    In addition to a passion for mathematics, Mr. Dolan is an experienced Theory of Knowledge teacher, helping students develop their critical thinking skills by encouraging them to question the world around them. This demand for rigour and logic bleeds over into the Mathematics class.
