Band for Change

BIS Houston Students Band Together for Change

Band Together for Change (BTC) is a school-based musical band that aims to make a difference and raise money for the National Endowment for the Arts by performing at local events. This program was created in 2018, and its purpose is to advocate for the importance of the arts in a student’s curriculum. The band is composed of a number of British International School of Houston students.

BTC comprises a wide variety of musical talent. Their goal is to not only raise awareness for the National Endowment, but also for the importance of arts programs within students lives across the world. BTC's members want to see a change in the outlook that is usually associated with the Arts.

The group was started by Year 13 student, Eugenie, who has a passion for singing and music.  Eugenie's passion is clearly evident, she believes music, and the arts in general, can be anything you want it to be; "It can be a remedy in challenging times (such as senior year of high school) and can be the key to another world of which you could only dream".

At the weekend, BFC performed at Hermann Park, check out their performance here.

If you are interested in getting involved please contact Year 13 students, Eugenie, Enen or Rachel. Practices take place on Mondays from 3.30pm and Thursday and Friday lunchtimes.
