ICS Observes the 30th Anniversary of World Children’s Day

In Grades 5-12, author Anna Perera joined us from England to discuss her literary works. These include the acclaimed novels Guantanamo Boy and The Glass Collector. She was at ICS to tell our students about her incredible experiences writing stories about children around the world who have had their rights taken from them. Students also had the opportunity to have books signed by our guest author.

The Secondary Student Council had a key role in planning the day’s events, and they shared with us what this responsibility meant to them:

Organizing World Children’s Day was very exciting and challenging for us. We wanted to reach as many students as we could and give them the possibility to learn and teach about children’s rights. As Student Council it is clear to us that our main role is to make sure that these rights are known and respected in our school. And what better day to raise awareness for them than World Children’s Day?

Thanks to all the students and organisers who collaborated to make this day a huge success!
