Highlights from our secondary school this month
We recently hosted the Accreditation Team members, which was an opportunity for reflection and inspiration. The students have been great ambassadors for ICS when meeting the teams, and I would like to congratulate all of them on their respectful and mature behaviour with our visitors.
Each year, we issue a student survey to all students in the Secondary School. Findings from these surveys ensure that the student voice is heard and guide us in helping to meet the students’ needs. The top rated statements in this year's survey were -

I'd also like to congratulate our Grade 12 students, and Ms South and Mr González on their recent visual arts exhibition in the Farhangi Hall - the artwork was outstanding!
Friday 8th March was International Women’s Day and students and staff celebrated women and girls, both at ICS and around the world. Seconday students covered the school in purple flowers, purple ribbons, singing and musical performances and purple table cloths at lunch. The future is certainly female at ICS!
The Math Department and MYP students celebrated International π-day on Thursday 14th March - an annual worldwide celebration of the mathematical constant π.
Grade 6 student commented, “This was really fun and amusing at the same time, we also learned a lot, for example π is the Greek letter for P which means perimeters!”
We also celebrated #MyFreedomDay on 14th March, a special event for students and teachers across the world, aiming to raise awareness of modern-day slavery. Here at ICS, our students took part in activities such as a treasure hunt, kahoot challenges and songs to express themselves about freedom and speak up for those who don't have a voice.
Standing at over 6,000m, Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world, and one of the most stunning challenges to undertake.
ICS Students from Grades 8-11 recently successfully took on the mountain as part of the Global Campus series of Tanzania Expeditions, expertly led by PHE Teacher, Mr Merino. Congratulations to them all!
