What places around the globe have a special meaning to you, and why?
Texas, USA where I was born and raised.

What are your hobbies?
Reading; I credit my mother for my love of reading books.
As a young girl I remember going to the library and checking out books every 2 weeks. I would have a little reading time every day. My mother was a fan of mysteries, and I enjoy reading fiction to disconnect and to rest. Pure enjoyment!
However, presently on my bedside table is the book “Becoming” by Michelle Obama. I have found it to be very inspiring. Biographies usually have an interesting story to tell and teach us lessons of experience.
What was your favourite book when you were your students’ age?
Charlotte’s Web
What is something that your students don’t know about you – but would impress them if they did?
I was a cheerleader for the basketball and football team.
Tell us about your proudest accomplishment.
Being a mom, my greatest accomplishment ever! A wonderful journey!
Being a parent is probably the best thing I have become. Raising my children has sent me back to my own childhood so many times. It has given me a new understanding and appreciation for my parent’s perspective during my own growing up years. I have 2 boys; Gabriel is 22 years old and Daniel is 19 years old. They both have their own individual personality, habits and interests. I am forever grateful to the many experiences and education that ICS has given them both and prepared them for the future.

I do still sleep with one eye open and always worry. However, the greatest joy of being a parent is endless. And, if I had to sum it up, it would be the learning, listening, laughing and loving.
