What is a Pre-University Diploma?
A full foundation programme aimed at our Year 13 students who are about to make the leap to a university programme. This six week programme will prepare students for university study and life. Students are most excited about the Introduction to Political Philosophy and Cooking Skills courses and we can't wait to hear about what they will get up to over the next 6 weeks.
Aims
- Prepare students for university.
- Develop a love of a subject and explore it beyond the A-Level curriculum.
- Develop skills needed for university undergraduate study.
- Have fun learning, expand beyond the horizon of examination subjects.
What does it include?
A range of optional units that are directly linked to a broad range of university courses.
The qualification has a skills based focus that allows the candidate to prepare or demands of higher education.
A credit system where the candidate must complete a minimum number of credits achieve a pass mark for the qualification.

You can choose up to three courses that you are either interested in or that directly link to your University degree or career path

You can complete a set of tasks that incorporate a range of different skills that will prepare you for higher education.

You can complete one of the enrichment programmes on offer. |
All of the evidence is gathered in a portfolio which will be reviewed at the end of the course.
Each unit from the different pillars will have a set number of credits assigned to it. They each may have different values e.g. the Cooking Course may count for 80 credits and the Introduction to mandarin Course may be worth 120 credits. The pre uni Maths course MAY carry 150 credits.
