Mia Owens

Head of Reception and Reception B Teacher

Ms Owens joined BSY in January 2016. She has been working in education for ten years. The majority of her experience has been in Nursery and Reception classes in schools in London, England. She has also taught in a number of Early Years settings in Australia.

Qualifications

BSc Social Science, University of the Sunshine Coast; Graduate Diploma of Education Early Years, University of the Sunshine Coast; M.Ed. University of Queensland.

Mia is passionate about the importance of providing children with ‘real life’ experience and believes children learn best when they are happy, secure and engaged. She is passionate about outdoor education and tries to foster a love of the outdoors in her students.

In her spare time Mia enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures.
