2019 Visual Arts Competition

Global Campus is part of Nord Anglia Education’s (NAE) online platform which gives all our schools and students the opportunity to develop an international perspective through online, in school and worldwide experiences. One of these experiences is the Visual Arts Competition.

This year’s competition focused on the UN’s Global Goal 4: Quality Education and Global Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. To learn more about the Global Goals, click here

We had so many fantastic entries; it was really tough to choose the first place in each age category (8-11 years) and (11-14 years)! Congratulations to all the winners listed below.

After the break all winning artworks will be exhibited on the school foyer's screen,  so do stop by and take a look!

Age 8-11
Goal 4 - Chanuk "Eric" (Grade 3)

"Everyone deserves a quality education. I did this lego creation because some children are not able to go to school and I think it is not fair for them.  I wish everyone could go to school and can do other things, and that is why I chose goal 4."

Eric's Submission
Age 8-11
Goal 16 - Micah (Grade 3) - 'Unity in Diversity'

" With this artwork I would like to show that only united we can strive for world peace and unity in diversity. These different shoes, sizes and colors represent the different cultures and colors of the human race."

Micah's Submission
Age 11-14
Goal 4 - Keoni (Grade 6)

"My artwork relates to Goal 4 because there are lots of girls who aren't getting good education. Some aren't getting education at all. Without them there isn't a full school community. We need to make sure the missing piece returns to have one full community."

Keoni's Submission
Age 11-14
Goal 16 - Isabella (Grade 6)

"I created a loop animation. Guns, symbolizing war, metamorphosize into doves representing peace. The doves become children who through education can make a peaceful future. However peace needs Justice and Strong Institutions to be maintained, so I included 'Scales of Justice.' (During this project I improved my animation smoothness!)"

Highly Commended

NAE's Global Campus Team have also now determined that both Isabella and Eric (Chanuk) have received a Highly Commended, which means that their pieces will be exhibited at the UN during the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York this July as part of a media display to sit front and center for government and UN officials to interact with!

Congratulations to all participants

Congratulations to all participants in this competition: Andres, Arnav, Anshi, Eric, Micah, Nishi, Aditi, Keoni, Isabella, Reese, Xing and Eleni. If you happen to see these children around school, please congratulate them on their efforts.
