Ellen studied Pedagogy and worked for the Royal Dutch Airlines as a flight attendant for a couple of years traveling many countries all around the world, when she realized that becoming a teacher was what she had always wanted. She has been an Elementary teacher at a Dutch school for many years and specialized in students with special educational needs. She started her own remedial teaching practice, working with children with dyslexia. She missed having colleges, so in 2015 Ellen started working at NAISR and became a Dutch Language teacher and Learning Support Teacher.
Ellen enjoys spending time with her friends and family and walking with her dog. Skiing, tennis and ice skating are favorite sports. She also loves singing and dancing. She lives close to Kinderdijk and hopes to skate the 'Molentocht' once again.
