Staff Profile: Amy Leese

Amy Leese

Year 3 Class Teacher

Amy joins us in August 2016 as a Teacher in Year 3. Amy graduated from De Montfort University with a BSc HONS in Textile Design, whereupon she worked independently for 2 years as a knitwear designer in the UK. Returning to De Montfort University Amy gained a distinction in her PGCE Art and Design and continued a long running family tradition as a Secondary School Art teacher. She joins us from St Christopher’s International Primary School, Penang where she teaches Year 5 and has taught for the last 3 years.

Teaching is her passion and she is always reflective of her practice. Amy believes she has high expectations of her pupils and motivates all children to become life-long learners. She believes in positive reinforcement and enabling children to become independent learners. Amongst her interests, Amy enjoys travelling to less well travelled places and paints most weekends. She has exhibited in a local gallery in Penang, and is also a keen writer.
