Staff Profile: Emma Noonan

Emma Noonan

Year 2 Class Teacher (2EN) and NAE Reading Fellow

A New Zealand trained teacher, Emma began her overseas teaching journey in 1997 when she moved to the United Kingdom.  Since then she has spent time working and living in Asia, the Middle East and her home of New Zealand.

Emma has worked at all primary levels, but most recently has been based in Key Stage One. She sees teaching young children as a ‘buzz’ and loves to see them absorb knowledge and make significant shifts in their learning.

Emma has a particular curriculum interest in English - specifically reading, and has spent a number of years working with other Nord Anglia colleagues to improve the delivery of reading in the classroom.

She enjoys fostering a love of reading with the children in her class, providing a range of opportunities for children to engage with books and other assorted text.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys relaxing with a good book to unwind, as well as travelling and spending time with family and friends.  Music is also a big part of her life. She usually has the radio on or some tune playing in the background and she loves to sing along!
