Samantha Cathro

Careers and Higher Education Guidance Counsellor

Sam holds a postgraduate diploma in careers education, information, advice and guidance from the University of Warwick in the UK, where she studied part-time whilst working at the University of Bristol Careers Service.

Sam joins Dover Court following two years at Riverside International School in Prague, where she worked as the high school careers counsellor. In this role she planned, developed and delivered a careers education programme for Years 10-13, focussing on making informed and successful applications to Higher Education institutions worldwide. At the University of Bristol Sam’s work initially focussed on developing comprehensive careers support for PhD students before taking on a more strategic role to lead a central careers service for all students whilst developing subject-specific support to embed careers within the curriculum.

Sam still considers herself to be a scientist at heart. She has a degree, PhD and teaching qualification in Chemistry. She has taught Science and Chemistry at a number of schools in the UK.

Sam moved to Singapore with her husband and two children. When she isn’t transporting her children to rugby matches, swimming galas, gymnastics competitions and parties, her hobbies include walking, swimming and cycling.
