Alex joined Dover Court after teaching for 4 years in the UK in an outer London school where she absolutely loved the many challenges and rewards that teaching had to offer. At her previous school, she took on the role of EAL Co-ordinator, as well as actively participating in many pastoral responsibilities; these included running the Year 8 School Council and mentoring more vulnerable pupils.
Alex is a firm believer in the importance of learning other languages in order to gain insight into other cultures and see the world from different perspectives. Through the learning of languages we can interact with the world around us in a far more meaningful way and this is something that Alex strives to put across to the pupils she teaches. Alex has high expectations of her students; this stems from her belief that all pupils are capable of succeeding with hard work and dedication. She is committed to ensuring that her lessons are both fun and engaging, while also being challenging for all.
Aside from her love of teaching, Alex values the opportunity to travel to new places and is thoroughly enjoying exploring Southeast Asia, as well as many other parts of the world.
