Cathal’s teaching career began in Ryedale, teaching Geography and History, but he soon moved to Huddersfield to continue his career where he specialised in teaching Geography to students from Year 7 to Year 11. Cathal continued to provide opportunities for pupils to develop an understanding of different people and cultures and create a curiosity for the inner workings of the world we see around us.
Cathal’s career soon saw him hold a position as Progress Leader for Year 8 students, which allowed him to work closely with the cohort and to ensure that they were making progress, helping where they struggled and ensure that they were safe and prepared for the school day. Following this position, he also held roles such as Careers Coordinator and Head of Geography, which again allowed him work closely with students in a variety of different aspects, helping them model their futures.
Outside of school, Cathal is a keen sports person with interests in playing and watching a variety of sports where possible. He has a passion for travel and adventure, which often sees him flying off to different locations at any opportunity. He also, having been a Physical Geographer, loves being out in nature walking and exploring different landscapes with his dog, Alfie.
