Year 4 Class Teacher (4HA)

Helen graduated from Liverpool University with a BSc Honours in Psychology and completed a PGCE in primary teaching at the Institute of Education, London. 

After completing a Psychology degree, Helen spent some time working with children who have special education needs. Working in the Royal School for the Blind in Liverpool and with autistic children in London confirmed her decision to become a primary school teacher.

Following graduation, Helen worked in an inner city London school where, in her role as geography co-ordinator, she developed a new programme of study for Geography and History in line with the new national curriculum.

Helen is passionate about teaching and learning, and looks for ways to motivate and engage her students by bringing the learning alive.  She had particular success with a whole school project that she led around the 2016 Rio Olympics, aimed to engage the children in learning about countries all around the world.  

Helen is delighted to be working within our pathway classes at DCIS, she has already been one of our twinned pathway class teachers in school and is excited to be working within Pathway 4.
